Divex dive chambers shrink wrapped and bound for Norway
UK packaging specialist Toorak, were recently called to assist Divex with one of their projects – shrink wrapping large scale specialist dive chambers bound on their journey from Scotland to Norway.
Divex are the global leader in the design, supply and manufacturer of diving and subsea equipment. This project formed part of a programme to protect seven interconnecting chambers that would, when assembled, form subsea living quarters for divers where they would be housed for up to three weeks.
Toorak used a total of 2,700 sq metres of INTERCEPT shrink wrap material which is renowned for its performance and cost saving benefits. The exercise took 4 days to complete at Divex’s Glasgow site and enabled the chambers to be perfectly protected during their transit from Scotland, to Romania prior to their onward and final destination in Norway.
INTERCEPT has become the product of choice for many clients within the oil & gas industry. In shrink wrap form it can be used to cover even the largest equipment including whole helicopters. Its broad temperature range (from -35˚C to +80˚C) coupled with up to 15 year warranty means that products can be protected against corrosion, rust or mould for long periods of time during transit or storage. Reusable and coated to negate any need to re-oil or grease products, clients simply unwrap and use.
